Head-To-Toe Happiness

“Head-to-Toe Happiness” is my favorite keynote presentation for corporate retreats, team meetings or conferences needing a high-energy, fun and funny personality with content to create a ripple effect through an audience, workplace or industry gathering.

The quote below from Viktor Frankl is my personal mission and my presence onstage is both authentic and powerful. “The meaning of my life is to help others find meaning in theirs.”

“Head-to-Toe Happiness” in a nutshell is a presentation or workshop on the many facets of happiness including community, compassion, communication, creativity and brain chemistry-with each facet a workshop in itself.

To the point: productivity is important, as are happy employees, families, and communities.  We’re losing our ability to connect and to laugh and to listen, and it’s very literally killing us – isolation, depression and suicide are trending in the wrong direction and we’re all losing.

Barriers to happiness block our ability to realize, or even dream, about our meaning and purpose. We’re often consumed by busy-ness to truly reflect on productive action, strategic use of our time, and even our ability to be effective in our roles. Do we know our strengths and creative gifts and use them every day?  When we do, we are happier, more productive, function at a higher level, and able to be more deeply bonded with those around us – we make more money for ourselves and our employers and serve our clients better.

Are conversations a barrier to meetings serving a gathering where generative ideas happen? Inter-personal communication is a “soft-skill” and yet is hard to master.  Trust and bonding come from empathy, compassion and humility and teams that thrive together are the result of strong rapport, camaraderie and mutual respect – every conversation builds or breaks these team bonds. Doing it well is critical.

Does your work community provide strong friendships and work that accesses your gifts and gives you fulfillment? When at home is your community doing the same? Do you get to live out your values and passions or can you create them yourself?  Where you live and work is a critical life decision and retention of community members and colleagues is a decision you influence.

Our brains, these ancient things, are wired to keep us alive and not make us happy. Our brains motivate us with fear and happiness through brain chemistry.  Fear has value and when you know why your fear response has been triggered, you can evaluate fear and stress and turn them off or even better turn them into motivators.

The world around you is actually a measurably better place than it was 200 years ago – slavery is gone, women vote,  less people starve or die from the simple act of drinking water than ever in human history – and we’re not measurably happier.  And this issue isn’t all about you….it’s about your work tribe, your family, your friends and your community – and your actions have a ripple effect on the world.

We’ll explore all of this and more and give you tools to create happier workplaces while we also explore your own happiness and learn techniques and skills to live a happier, more productive and fulfilling lives both at home and at work.

You get one life. Make sure you live it.
